The test, conducted on January 12, 2026 at their Sanand facility, validates the motor’s performance and marks a pivotal step in the company’s path toward its inaugural orbital launches.
The successful firing demonstrates the integrity of the motor’s design, materials, and manufacturing processes. Data collected from the test will be integral to finalizing the booster configuration for Omspace’s upcoming launch vehicles, which aim to provide reliable and cost-effective access to space.
The test, carried out at the Sanand Facility, was aimed at validating the motor’s performance, structural integrity, and ignition characteristics under controlled conditions. During the test, the solid rocket motor operated for its full planned duration of 3 seconds, achieving a peak thrust of 8.5 kN with an average thrust of 6 kN. The motor, with a total mass of 31.25 kg including propellant, met all predefined test objectives, demonstrating a specific impulse of 125 seconds.
