In a world where AI models are proliferating faster than cat videos on the internet, a new startup is stepping in to play traffic cop. DotAgent.ai, founded by a trio of tech veterans, has launched an AI agent router that it describes as the “Google for AI agents.”

To solve the growing problem of matching AI tasks to the right AI capabilities – a challenge that’s becoming increasingly complex as the number of AI models skyrockets. By our estimate, platforms like Hugging Face could host over 800,000 AI models by mid-2024.

At the heart of DotAgent.ai’s system is what they call “Agent Genome” technology. This digital analyzer for AI purportedly matches each task or prompt to the most suitable AI model or agent. The company claims this approach allows them to outperform heavyweight champions like GPT-4 and Anthropic’s Devin in real-world scenarios, while potentially slashing AI costs by up to 60%.

“Think of us as the Tinder for AI tasks and models, but with a much higher success rate,” quips Anurag Bisoyi, co-founder of DotAgent.ai and leader of the AI.engineer community in India. “We’re playing matchmaker in the AI world, ensuring each task finds its perfect model match.”

DotAgent.ai isn’t just making bold claims – they’ve got numbers to back them up. They report 8x better performance than GPT-4 on the SWE-Bench benchmark, a test designed to evaluate AI coding abilities. They’ve also arm-wrestled both GPT-4 and Devin in other real-world tests and come out on top, they say.

The founding team brings a colourful mix of experiences to the table:

  • Raqib Mirza once helped launch groceries and cloud kitchens at Zomato, and later played enterprise sales matchmaker at OTPless and Dukaan.
  • Abhijith Gopakumar has a knack for building recommendation systems that have played cupid for millions of users at companies like Vahak and iMumz.
  • Anurag Bisoyi previously co-founded Animall, a dairy tech platform that raised $21M and grew to over 10 million users.

“We’re not just herding cats here,” says Raqib Mirza. “We’re corralling an entire zoo of AI models and making sure they play nice together.”

The company is eyeing a piece of what they estimate to be an $88 billion AI matchmaking market. They’ve already turned heads at Bangalore’s largest AI demo day, winning both audience polls.

Looking ahead, DotAgent.ai plans to cosy up to the AI engineer community, partner with AI agent startups, and charm mid-market companies with their cost-saving promises.

As the AI world continues to expand faster than the universe after the Big Bang, DotAgent.ai is betting that someone needs to build the cosmic map. Whether they’ll succeed in becoming the Google of this new AI cosmos remains to be seen, but they’re certainly jumping into the fray with gusto.

For those curious to see if DotAgent.ai can indeed play successful matchmaker for their AI tasks, the company invites you to try their demo at demo.dotagent.ai. Who knows? You might just swipe right on your perfect AI match.
